The bibliography contains about 2100 references to literary materialon taxonomy, palaeoecology, -biology and -biogeography of rudist bivalves (Hippuritacea, Jurassic-Cretaceous). All entries are supplemented with information on the subject matter i.e. the age, the country of origin of the material concerned, and taxonomic aspects (new taxa, descriptions, illustrations, lists only). An index of the countries of origin facilitates access to literature on specific geographical regions.
The accompanying diskette contains the bibliography as a data bank and a menu-driven search program for Windows-compatible computers. Updating will be provided as an optional service.
The first appendix is published in the Coral Research Bulletin (6.1998, p. 142-187), the second in Neue Paläontologische Abhandlungen (5.2002, p. 125-146) and as brochure available from the publishing house (7,50 €; 5 € if delivered together with the bibliography).
